OTC Services - Bclear

Latest news!... BClear API v1.6 is available in BClear Test Environment - Find documentation below.

Bclear provides a low cost means of registering, processing and clearing wholesale business within the secure framework of an exchange and clearing house. It can be used as a stand-alone service or in conjunction with Cscreen, the pre-trade price discovery platform. Bclear transactions are conducted on a bilateral basis in the OTC market, but once the trade has been submitted to, and accepted by, Liffe, it is replaced by an Exchange contract. All trades confirmed via Bclear are then processed through TRS CPS to LCH.Clearnet.Ltd. Upon trade confirmation, all the functionalities of TRS that apply for LIFFE CONNECT traded products apply to the Bclear registered products.

Bclear users benefit from a large flexibility to specify contract maturity (out to 5 years for single stock products, at least 5 years for index products, out of 10 years for Credit Default Swaps), exercise price and settlement method.

Bclear coverage includes futures and options on hundreds of European, Russian, South Korean and US securities, variance futures contracts as well as futures on the AEX and CAC high dividend indices. In addition to these equity derivatives products, Bclear offers trading on fixed coupon levels for 3, 5, 7 and 10 years Credit Default Swaps Indices.

Further information about Bclear can be found on NYSE Euronext website.

Bclear

Bclear can be accessed through Cscreen, the Bclear Graphical User Interface (GUI) or via a client application based on the SOAP-based API.

The Bclear API has been developed in response to strong demand from members to enable them to interface Bclear with other internal systems. Developed in the standard protocol used in the OTC market, it provides significant benefits.

  • The API opens up the possibility for automation of processes to provide full Straight Through Processing from trade automation into the Bclear system, to integration with Clearing and Back-Office systems.
  • Trades registered via Bclear can be automatically integrated into Risk Management systems, providing a total risk view across central market and OTC positions.
  • The API provides members with the ability to develop “white-labelled” applications for their Order Routing end users (e.g. Asset Managers, Hedge Funds etc), to submit trades into Bclear.

In order to use the API, client applications must be capable of calling a SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) 1.1 based API web service through HTTP over SSL, as well as being capable of generating and parsing XML documents.
